We are continuing the 82 Burning Questions with Part 6. Let’s get into it!
13. Will the 76ers make the playoffs? – No
Here is a time to announce my biggest prediction for the upcoming season. This could go really bad, but I see it happening: the Brooklyn Nets will make the playoffs. I can’t see the 76ers staying healthy. Markelle Fultz has gotten 2 injuries already, J.J. Redick is on the wrong side of 30, and Embiid will probably not play over 50 games. By the end of the season, the starting lineup could be looking like:
PG: T.J. McConnell/Jerryd Bayless
SG: Robert Covington
SF: Ben Simmons
PF: Dario Saric
C: Jahlil Okafor
As you can see, I don’t know who would even start at Point Guard. With the Nets, when they had Jeremy Lin they did great. To me, a .500% win percentage is pretty good. With the addition of my pick to win Most Improved Player in DLoading, the Nets have a great back court. This means when playing teams with not as good backcourts(Knicks, 76ers, Nuggets, Etc.) they will excels. I think this leads them to a playoff spot, knocking he 76ers out.
14. Will Blake Griffin Return to All-NBA Form? – Yes
Blake Griffin is the star of his team. Deandre Jordan is good, however he is a rebounder and not a scorer like Blake Griffin. And of course I have to talk about my favorite player on the Clippers, Milos Teodosic. The difference between Teodosic and CP3 is that Chris Paul could score. Milos Teodosic averaged only 8.4 PPG in his 5 Preseason games, but he did average 5 assists. With Blake Griffin playing only 23.4 Minutes Per Game in preseason, Teodosic will pile on even more assists, as if you watched his games/highlights in preseason lob city is still going to be alive for Clippers basketball. If Griffin can stay healthy, I believe being the #1 scorer for the Clippers he will make All-NBA 3rd Team.
15. Will the Starters Make the Celebrity All-Star Game? – No
This questions was directed to the Starters show, however we can do it anyway. Based on looking at the NBA Celebrity Game last year, it was in Toronto. The Starters show is held in Toronto. If they aren’t let in to the place they hold their show, they can’t make it anywhere. Maybe in a few years but for now I say no to this question.
16. Best Free Agency Signing – Kevin Durant
Because the last question was short, I have enough time for one more question. This is more of a resigning for the Warriors, however I choose Durant as the best signing. Durant is only going to make 25 mil a year. That means the Warriors are able to sign at least one other max contract, which is why Curry was given such a large amount of money. Kevin Durant was the MVP of the Finals, and 25 mil a year is the same amount of money Jrue Holiday is making. I know I would rather have Durant then Holiday on my team.
